METALAB – city development laboratory. It is a community united by interest in urban living, desire to learn and improve the urban environment, as well as a platform for communication, urban research and events. MetaLab is an urban laboratory in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine, and is located at the premises of Promprylad Plant, that is currently being redeveloped as a mixed use space for community, creative industries, and culture.
The targeted audience of MetaLab is both professional communities and those who have experience in the implementation of urban projects, seek for like-minded people, and implement their ideas in Ivano-Frankivsk, as well as those who want to learn more about the city living and environment, and are interested in the actual urban processes in the world.
CITY DEVELOPMENT LABORATORY
MetaLab supports a socially equal, spatially comfortable, culturally rich, environmentally responsible, economically balanced city.
In order to reach these goals, MetaLab aims to create a supportive environment, a field for experiments, where the social and spatial potential of the city can be developed and tested in practice.
ANNA PASHYNSKA – co-founder and co-curator of city development laboratory METALAB. She has moved in Ivano-Frankivsk in 2015 after studies in Lviv Politechnika and Technical University of Vienna. Anna is experienced architect and interior designer (lots of Ivano-Frankivsk best restaurants as well as PromPrylad.Renovation spaces are created by her). Anna was one of the student in first Studio by CANACTIONS school, where they made the Urban Constitution for the City which is relevant till nowadays. Together with Olexander Shevchenko, they’ve created lots of urban interventions, founded METALAB and City Scanning Session Festival.
ANNA DOBROVA - is co-curator of METALAB and co-founder of MistoDiya collective. Anna has an architectural background, which she gained in National Academy of Fine Arts in Kyiv, Technical University of Vienna and in multiple architectural and urban buros. Though, while living in Vienna Anna became more interested on socially oriented architecture, which she is practicing through educational workshop, curatorial practice, design, art and urban interventions and research. In 2018 Anna has joined Metalab as co-curator of city development laboratory.
ANNA KUZYSHYN - joined the team of METALAB as a CIM expert from Germany, with the support of GIZ and ZAV (BA) for timeframe September 2018 and until the end of July 2019. Anna supervises the seasonal public program, but also curated the FutureLab research project (in partnership with TU Kaiserslautern) and the public program of the City Scanning Festival. She has more than 9 years of experience in the field of design and architecture and urbanism in Ukraine and Germany, as an interior designer, architect, researcher, city planner and project manager.
YULIIA RUSYLO - is a graphic designer at the METALAB City Laboratory. Yulia conducts personal artistic activity and had solo and collective exhibitions in various cities of Ukraine. For more than 4 years, she has been creating illustrations and graphic design for various commercial and social projects (like Bukvica, Dribnota, etc.). Since 2016 she lives in Frankivsk and in 2017 joined the laboratory of MetaLab first as a participant of the programs and then as a inimitable art director and designer.
NATAKIIA TEMEKH - Communications Manager of the Festival "City Scanning Session" 2019. Natalka is an experienced in social media manager, has a business practice both with commercial projects and with social initiatives and civic organizations.
DMYTRO ISAEV - архітектор, куратор, проектний менеджер.
Дмитро закінчив бакалаврат академії мистецтв у Києві, та магістратуру академії прикладних мистецтв у Відні. У 2014 став співзасновником громадської організації “МістоДія”, що працює з міськими спільнотами, організовує навчальні воркшопи та втілює міські проекти. У 2017 брав участь, як куратор, у фестивалі «Сеанс Міського Сканування». Працював над проектами різного масштабу в архітектурних бюро Києва та Відня.
